Hi everyone,
I thought we could add posts about examples of new media being used by companies.
e.g. http://www.chungachampionship.com.au/ by Kit Kat - the campaign has been so successful they have had the impact of a full scale television ad campaign at a quarter of the cost!

From Tiff @ Social Diary: Fantastic Campaign
ReplyDeleteThe brilliant social media campaign by Burger King: "Sacrifice 10 Facebook friends for a free Whopper!" has now finished.
Not only did 233,906 people get rid of 10 Facebook friends right away, but all their friends were notified via newsfeed that they love Whopper more than, say, Michael. Very clever indeed.

Coca-Cola competition in Second Life
ReplyDeletehttp://www.virtualthirst.com/
The Coca-Cola Company has been in virtual worlds for several years - from Coke Studios, to World of Warcraft, to CC Metro, to Habbo Hotel, Coke has been exploring virtual space alongside its consumers. However, it was Coke's entry into Second Life in 2007 that drew mass media attention - Second Life's openness to user-generated content, and Coke's openness to what residents were already doing with the brand led many to take notice. From the contest's inception through the winning entry's unveiling, Coca-Cola collaborated with residents in determining the concept, publicizing the entry period, judging the entries, and building the final winning entry to give back to the community. Read more about the contest specifics, judges, musical artists, and the Magic Coke Bottles that are now being brought across Second Life by residents in the links below.
OH MY GOODNESS THAT IS THE COOLEST - about Obama. What a legend and good on him for making the time to talk to people - through a medium other than journo-style media... where bias can sometimes be incredible. that is seriously amazing.
ReplyDeleteTurns out Naked aren't as clever as they thought - bit of a backlash on the whole viral man with the jacket campaign... http://www.bandt.com.au/dirplus/images/bttoday/newsletter/22_01_2009.pdf

Here's an example of a US Fashion PR site using BlogTalkRadio - a site where you can create podcats via the phone / microphone. We can create podcasts via the blogtalkradio.com
ReplyDeleteMon - for the next newsletter, it would be good to integrate a vidcast of your opening letter and perhaps some of the breakfast + podcast material (storming news?).
Dom - for the agenda for the morning of the breaky, can you please add that we need to ask the audience if they mind if we record the session for marketing.
Joram - can you please bring your video camera?
Thanks
And here's the website for the fashion pr! - sorry http://www.prcouture.com/about/
